Diagnosis is primarily based on thyroid ultrasound, which assesses the size, composition, and characteristics of the nodules. In some cases, fine-needle aspiration (FNA) is recommended to obtain cytological material for a more precise evaluation of the nodule’s nature. Management of thyroid nodules depends on findings and the likelihood of malignancy. Benign nodules are monitored regularly with ultrasound and laboratory tests, while malignant or large symptomatic nodules may require surgical removal.
